What is the world’s largest primate?

The Orang Utan

Orangutan, Malaysia
Orang Utan literally means “wild man”. The Orangutan, as English speakers spell it, is the largest of the five species of surviving great apes. The other surviving great apes species are; Humans, Bonobos, Gorillas, and Chimpanzees. Borneo is known for its Wild Orangutan Sanctuary where visitors can watch these amazing creatures feed. The special made platforms offer an amazing viewing opportunity of these animals that are feed twice daily. I was concerned about this artificial food source causing an unnatural balance and dependence by the Orangutans. Interestingly, the sanctuary staff prevents this problem by only putting out bananas.
Much like humans, Orangutans quickly get tired of eating the same thing. Wild adults would rather collect their wide range of food from nature and only the young and orphaned Orangutans come here to feed.
